Located in Hollister, CA, buyers are coming from the San Jose and Silicon Valley area looking to get more house for their money. The client requested that this home stay to its traditional roots, hoping for a mature buyer. Since this home was on the smaller side and lacked interest or character on any of the walls and very vanilla, I decided to implement a beautiful wall treatment that greeted guests as soon as they walked in and ran it the length of the wall and took it up the stairs to turn ordinary stairs into a grand staircase. The kitchen is nearly the first thing you see when you enter the home so I decided on two tone painted cabinetry, with a luxuriously dark quartz on the dark cabinetry to give an unexpected moment in a traditional kitchen, with a marble slab acting as a backsplash to break up all of the dark moments. The marble in the kitchen was a foreshadowing moment to the rest of the home, with the master bathroom filled with marble and the kids’ bath having marble on the countertop. With the rest of the home being mature and traditional, I decided to have a little fun in the kids bath by adding hand formed subway tile and a glass mosaic in a stripe effect along the shower walls to compliment the dark linen like tile on the floor.
